MOSQUITOES

As many have experienced here in Central Texas, Mosquitoes can be a big problem outdoors. They have a bad habit of showing up at your backyard barbeque uninvited and you try everything to keep them at bay. Mosquitos not only cause an irritating bite but can also transmit diseases such as West Nile Virus, Malaria, Yellow Fever, and many more. There are many different species of Mosquitoes; a few are the Asian Tiger, the Floodwater, the Common Malaria, and many, many more. With so many different diseases easily transmitted to human and animals, it is important to control mosquitoes whenever and where ever possible. Control can be obtained through one or a combination of the following actions, elimination of breeding or harborage sites such as standing water, saturated soil, and water collection areas. The use of pesticides, biologicals, or predatory fish to control mosquito larva is also effective in controlling populations. Control of adult mosquitoes can be obtained by using ultra low dose/volume insecticides. Generally a combination of the above mentioned control measures will ensure a successful mosquito control program. It's important to remember to apply a repellent such as OFF anytime you may be outside at dawn or dusk during mosquito season. Just don't apply it directly to the skin instead spray or rub it on your clothes and wash your hands when done. So if you are tired of slapping yourself silly or scratching your arms off, call and ask about our mosquito control programs.
